- Violate any court injunction or sub judice reporting restrictions
Applicable Indian Law
- Article 19(2), Constitution of India — Reasonable restrictions on free speech in the interests of sovereignty, security of the State, and public order
- Official Secrets Act, 1923 — Disclosure of government secrets relating to defence or national security is a criminal offence
- Section 69A, IT Act, 2000 — Central Government may block online content in the interest of sovereignty, security, public order, or to prevent incitement to a cognisable offence
- Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, Section 2(c) — Criminal contempt includes scandalising any court or prejudicing the administration of justice
- Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (UAPA) — Publishing content promoting terrorism or secessionism is a serious criminal offence

Corrections Policy & Right of Reply
SamacharSetu is committed to publishing corrections promptly and transparently. If you believe an article contains a factual error, please contact our editorial team with supporting evidence. Verified corrections will be noted within the article with a correction timestamp.
Persons who are the subject of critical coverage may request a right of reply. We will consider such requests in accordance with the norms of the Press Council of India. We generally do not remove published articles, but will append corrections or clarifications as appropriate.

- Press Council of India Norms of Journalistic Conduct (2022) — Publications must be prepared to correct errors and publish corrections fairly
- IT (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2021, Rule 9(1)(b)(ii) — Digital news publishers must have a grievance mechanism for complaints about content
- Section 499, IPC, 1860, Exception 1 — Truthful corrections and retraction of false statements are relevant to defamation proceedings
- Section 14, Press Council Act, 1978 — The Press Council can direct a newspaper to publish a reply if it finds the publication was one-sided

Limitation of Liability

- Article 21, Constitution of India — Any attempt to silence a journalist through abuse of legal process may itself be challenged as violating the right to life and liberty
- Section 35, Consumer Protection Act, 2019 — Consumers may file complaints before the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission; however, editorial and news content is generally not a "service" under this Act
